Wednesday, January 27, 2010 – 2010 JusticeMakers Competition Official Launch

Saturday, February 20, 2010 – Deadline for Application Feedback

All applicants who submit their application before this date will receive comprehensive feedback on their proposal and the ability to modify their proposal's content prior to the initial round of judging. More specifically, applicants will receive a preliminary evaluation as to how their proposal meets the JusticeMakers judging criteria, along with tips on how to better articulate their idea in a way that's consistent with IBJ's mission. Applicants who participate in the feedback process will have a considerable advantage over those who choose to wait.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010 – Deadline for Preliminary Application

IBJ must *receive* Preliminary Applications by 23:59 (11:59 PM) GMT  +1 on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 for them to be considered.   Applicants can submit their applications via post, email, or via our online application system.  For more information on how to submit your application, download the Preliminary Application Package.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 – Fellowship Finalists Notified; Secondary Application Distributed

Those applicants whose Preliminary Application showed particular promise will be notified via email and extended the opportunity to elaborate on their ideas via a Secondary Application.  These “Fellowship Finalists” automatically qualify for the “People’s Choice” Rating Process, through which one JusticeMakers Fellowship will be awarded based on the collective evaluation of the JusticeMakers Community.

Wednesday, April 21, 2010 – Deadline for Secondary Application

IBJ must *receive* all Secondary Applications by 23:59 (11:59 PM) GMT  +1 on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 for them to be considered.   Applicants can submit their applications via post, email, or via our online application system.   For more information on how to submit your application, see Section 3 of this guide.  (Additional information will be made available to all qualifying applicants.)

Friday, April 23, 2010 – Evaluation Period Starts – People’s Choice and Official Judging

“Fellowship Finalists” will have their ideas evaluated by registered members of the JusticeMakers Community – each project will be evaluated on a scale of one to five.  The proposal with the highest average “rating” at the end of the evaluation period will be awarded the “People’s Choice” JusticeMakers Fellowship.  At the same time, Fellowship Finalists will have their proposals evaluated by a panel of criminal defense experts from around Asia.  The remaining seven JusticeMakers Fellowships will be awarded based on these judges’ collective recommendation.

Friday, May 7, 2010 – Evaluation Period Ends – People’s Choice and Official Judging

IBJ will close the public evaluation process at 23:59 (11:59 PM) GMT  +1 on Friday, May 7, 2010.

Mid May, 2010 – Fellowship Recipients Notified

IBJ will alert 2010 JusticeMakers Fellowship recipients by telephone, and arrange logistics for their transportation/accommodations for the JusticeMakers Finale and Training Event in Singapore.

August 12 - 17, 2010 – JusticeMakers Finale and Training Event

IBJ will host the 2010 JusticeMakers Fellowship recipients at a week-long celebration and training event in Singapore.
